Another week down; another week closer to crowning this year’s X Factor winner. But who will it be? The standard is so high this time around, it seems near enough possible to predict who’s going to bag the big recording contract prize, as well as that obligatory Christmas Number One slot. But it’s not just a singing contest. Judges are now looking for the entire package; the looks, the voice and the charisma - that so called ‘X Factor’. Thanks to a team of stylists, the competition’s finalists have been transformed into future stars - and on this week’s show alone (October 23), there was enough make-up looks to write a beauty book on!
Take Cher Lloyd. While her baggy trousers, trackie top and outrageous Mel B-esque hair might not have been your cup of tea, her make up just might have been. Sporting a Cheryl Cole-inspired bright pink lip, the 17-year-old singer also went for dramatic eye make up and big false lashes. Achieve a similar lip colour with Barry M’s Shocking Pink Lip Paint, at £4.24 each. Team it with Barry M's Dazzle Dust in Pink Shimmer at £4.49 and you've got a make-up look for less than £10. Don't forget to pile on lashings of black mascara for a false lash effect, too.
Treyc Cohen rocked up (quite literally) in a flattering black body con dress complete with massive fluffy arm detailing during her Led Zeppelin number. Elsewhere, Treyc kept her make-up fairly minimal, with a subtle smokey eye. You can achieve the same look using Stila's Smokey Eye Talking Palette, available here on the site. Treyc wore nude lipstick to complement the heavier eye make-up - try the look with Barry M's Marshmallow Lip Paint, £4.24.
Liverpool lass Rebecca Ferguson was transformed into Jessica Rabbit on the show, wearing a stunning statement hot pink gown, teamed with red tinged hair a la Miss Cole and bright lips. Get the look yourself with Barry M's Lip Paint in Pillar Box Red with a clear gloss to finish. Wear with a nude eyeshadow like Barry M's Dazzle Dust in Fawn and you're done!
Finally, solo singer Katie Waissel performed The Jungle Book's 'King of the Swingers’ Merrily Skipping around the stage dressed like a 30s flapper. Also wearing a bright red lip similar to Barry M’s Pillar Box Red, Katie’s eyes were heavily made up with a mountain of mascara. Just perfect!
