X Factor Make Up Week 5

Posted on 10th Nov 2010 @ 2:59 AM

With just nine X Factor contestants left in the competition, we're swiftly moving ever closer to the final and the inevitable Christmas number one. But who's your favourite so far?

It it the eerily intense Aiden, Daniel Beddingfield-esque Matt Cardle or even the quirkily cute Katie Waissel?  While the public's been divided over the salon receptionist, the judges are definitely fans. And while we're tuning in to X Factor to see which song our favourite act will be performing week on week, we're also just as eager to see what they're wearing. Come on girls, admit it!

The girls' make-up looks are no exception and it's difficult to predict what the stylists will come up with next. Bold dark purple lippie for Rebecca, Katie's shocking white Hallowe'en lashes and even Aiden's guyliner; we've so far seen it all! But perhaps the biggest transformation on last week's  (November 6) show was for Treyc, who unfortunately got booted out in favour of Katie. With a cute up do and floaty maxi dress, Treyc's sophisticated make-up complemented her classy new look. Lips were fairly neutral but Treyc wore lashings of black mascara and a burgundy/brown shade of eyeshadow like Stila’s Eye Shadow Pan in Twig

Cher Lloyd was back to her usual self with an upbeat performance of Alicia Keys’ New York, complete with the obligatory rap section.  Wearing a fuchsia pink cropped jacket and white trousers, Cher ‘s make-up was thankfully slightly less gaudy.  She sported a pretty pale pink lip and minimal eye make-up. Achieve the look by trying Barry M's Lip Paint in Baby Pink, no 100

It seemed to be a week of up dos for the girls last weekend -and even Mary got in on the act with a quiff to rival Elvis’s. Despite delivering a shaky version of Faith Hill’s There You’ll Be, Mary continues in the competition after being voted in by her adoring fans.  The Irish singer wore a smokey silver/grey eyeshadow combo teamed with pink/peach lips. Why not get hold of a Stila Smokey Eye Talking Palette for the eyes and pair it with Barry M’s  Lip Paint in Peachy Pink ...Perfect!

Katie Waissel performed No Doubt’s Don't Speak on the show and channelled Madonna with her big hair and sultry make-up. She wore a pale brown eyeshadow with a similar shade of brown on the lips and her outfit consisted of skin tight black trousers, a fitted black vest top and loads of beaded jewellery. Finally, bookies’ favourite to win, Rebecca's Ferguson performed Bob Dylan and, more recently, Adele’s track, Make You Feel My Love.  Dramatic burgundy eye shadow was the key to the Liverpudlian's look, paired with toned down nude lipstick.
